February is almost gone…
For those that didn’t read the first entry, I started this blog to recap life happenings. I still share posts from the brands I manage and send birthday wishes to my friends (I’m sure there are some I don’t see), but as far as random posts on social, I have decided to cut back. To try and look at my feed less, and my family’s faces more.
February was a busy month! Many birthdays, kids events, and everything in between made this month just breeze by! There was always a saying that the older you get in life, the years go by faster and faster than when you were a kid. I can certainly see that is true now. I mean, when you think about it, in a blink of an eye, we became adults with careers, kids, house repairs, vehicle repairs, etc. etc. This school year is even almost over. Our daughter will be entering high school next year. I hope it doesn’t breeze by for her like it did it for me.
One thing I have doing a lot of this past week is reflecting on life and what I’ve been able to do career-wise. I thought about the wins, the losses, and those moments where I learned alot about people. All of those experiences/adventures helped me become who I am now. I am now at the age of sharing those experiences with my kids, co-workers and aspiring creators so it would hopefully make a positive impact on them. I asked a friend this week when they decided to network with me, why they found me an interesting person. They said because of how successful I have been in business. How I’ve gone from one company to the next to make it better than the day prior. It’s tough for me to see that in myself. I guess because I put so much pressure on myself. My top goal everyday I wake up is to help inspire just one person to not give up, to inspire someone else to not give up. To build someone up instead of tearing them down.
Books I’m reading currently:
“The Anxious Generation” by Jonathan Haidt - Trying to understand this next generation. It’s amazing what technology did for everyone and TO everyone! I was an early adopter in technology and smartphones, but I think there should’ve been age restrictions on being able to have a smartphone. Anyways, I think this is a great read so far!
“Bulding a Storybrand 2.0” by Donald Miller - This is a great book to help anyone tell the most inspiring and engaging stories for your company!
Music I’m Playing on Spotify:
Songs of the 70s & 80s
Hans Zimmer scores from many movies
Photography Quote (and Image) I leave you with…
“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.” - Ansel Adams
